Program Description

Mastering the range of technologies covered in this program will allow you to develop high-quality websites that work seamlessly on mobile, tablet, and large-screen browsers.

During the capstone, students will develop a professional-quality web portfolio demonstrating their growth as a web developer and their knowledge of accessible and responsive web design.

Courses within the Web Designer and Developer Program

The CIW Site Development Associate

  • You will learn to develop Web sites using Hypertext Markup Language version 5 (HTML5) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
  • You will learn to write code manually, as well as use graphical user interface (GUI) authoring tools. You will also work with images, create hyperlinks, and add tables, forms, video and audio to your Web pages.

CIW User Interface Designer (UI) Part I & II

  • In this course, you will learn about the strategies and tactics necessary to design user interfaces, with particular emphasis on creating user interfaces for mobile devices.
  • You will learn how information obtained from the client, sales, and marketing is utilized to design and develop compelling visual experience Web sites for multiple platforms, including mobile, tablet, and desktop.

Building Web Applications with Typescript, Angular, and React

  • React is an open-source JavaScript library for building user interfaces or UI components. React can be used as a base in the development of single-page or mobile applications. In this class students will learn to utilize resources and create web based applications using typescript, angular and react.

Adobe Photoshop

  • Students will learn the Photoshop ‘secret sauce’ whereby students can magically enhance photos, including background and when necessary completely edit, modify images to best fit the need. By the end of this course you’ll possess super image editing skills using adobe photoshop!

 HTML, CSS & JavaScript Web Publishing

  • HTML is the foundation of all web pages. It defines the structure of a page, while CSS defines its style. HTML and CSS are the beginning of everything you need to know to make your first web page! Learn both and start creating amazing websites.

CIW JavaScript Specialist Part I & II

  • This course will empower students’ with the skills to design client-side, platform-independent solutions that greatly increase the value of websites by providing interactivity and interest. Students will learn how to use JavaScript to communicate with users, modify the Document Object Model (DOM), control program flow, validate forms, animate images, create cookies, change HTML on the fly, and communicate with databases.

Object oriented programming with Python Part I & II

  • The Advanced Perspective of Classes and Object-Oriented Programming in Python course will teach students how to utilize more complex aspects of object-oriented programming.

Databases and the Web – Mongo DB for Beginners and Intermediate

  • These courses will teach students how to use MongoDB as the database for a Java application. You will play the role of a back-end developer for a Java application, where your job is to implement the application’s communication with MongoDB.
  • Using the Java driver you will read and write data to the database, use the aggregation framework, manage the configuration of the database client, and create a robust application by handling exceptions and timeouts.
  • You’ll build the back-end for a movie-browsing application called MFlix. Using the MongoDB Java Driver, you will implement MFlix’s basic functionality.

Software Testing and Q&A

  • Software testing training will help students to master software testing concepts such as test cases development, error guessing techniques, and black-box techniques, etc.
  • As part of this Software Testing class, students will also master configuration management, defect management, and risk management and will work on real-life projects.

Capstone Project Building Response and Design

  • In this course students will create a complete, responsive, multi-user, data-driven website utilizing all the skills learned throughout the program.  The website will can utilized as the students’ web portfolio to showcase all skills and tools learned as part of the program.

Soft skills Career Placement & Resume Workshops

This course helps students set career goals, build skills, explore options, and excel professionally. It covers networking, communication, mentoring, self-discipline, and strategies for growth and career advancement
