Are you a veteran who is planning to transition from the US military to civilian life? If so, this is the program you need.

ABCO Technology, an accredited information technology training institution in Los Angeles, is pleased to announce our partnership with the Military Transition Network (MTN). ABCO Technology has provided training to veterans and students in technology, network and cyber security for the past 18 years.

Military Transition Network (MTN), sponsored by USAA, is an organization who helps veterans who have left service find jobs by teaching them life skills. This partnership provides technical training along with life skills to improve your prospects for employment after leaving the service.

ABCO Technology has been serving Southern California information technology training needs for eighteen years. Our school is accredited by ACCSC, an accrediting agency approved by the U.S. Department of Education. ABCO Technology Programs are approved by the Department of Veteran Affairs. We provide training to veterans who qualify with VA benefits. We provide practical, hands-on technology training, along with the opportunity to certify in a wide variety of vendor technology products, such as Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, CompTia, and EC-Council.

MTN will provide special life skills training, such as, combating stigma, communication, personal branding, interviewing techniques, job readiness and marketing yourself, upon completion of the cybersecurity program. These skills will help you successfully make that transition from military to civilian life. By enrolling at ABCO’s Cyber Security Program partnered with MTN’s Life skills training, your ability to gain and successfully maintain your employment will substantially improve, build and stabilize.

Your training program will last a total of thirteen weeks. The first eleven weeks of your program will be devoted to training and certification for a career in cyber-security, which is a field that is especially friendly to veterans. Veterans have a security clearance as a result of service. This clearance, even if inactive, will make it easier to open the door to many jobs with companies who handle sensitive information.

During your eleven weeks of technical training you will receive training plus the opportunity to certify for the following subjects:

    1. CompTIA A+ for computer repair. Employers always look for this certification when hiring new candidates.  This is an important certification needed as the baseline for all IT Certifications.
    2. CompTIA Network +. This will help you install and back up corporate servers, which act as the major computer for a company. You will learn about cloud servers in this program.
    3. CompTIA Security+ that validates baseline skills you need to perform core security functions in order to establish a career in Cyber Security.

All books, supplies, certification testing vouchers and materials will be supplied.

    Life Skills Training

Major studies conducted by the US Department of Education clearly indicate that 50% of candidates who fail to receive a job offer usually lack the important life skills needed to convince an employer to hire them. The last two weeks will focus on life skills. These skills include:

    1. Creating your own digital media profile. This will be your own personal brand. Employers are usually very impressed when they see this.
    2. Learning to improve and practicing different interviewing models. You will learn how to adapt to a company’s interviewing culture during this training.
    3. Improving telecommunication skills, which include resume writing and telephone interview presentation.
    4. Gaining a full understanding of professional etiquette.
    5. Learning about self-awareness and conflict resolution.
    6. Receiving a one-on-one customized professional job coaching. Your job coach will learn about you and help you create a profile, which will resonate with employers.
    7. Enrolling in a 90-day job placement services program.

By offering you this combined program, we are excited to see you move forward and succeed in your civilian life after graduation.
